Personal AI agent from Meta ★★★½☆3.5 / 5 Last updated:

Muse Review (2026)

Muse is Meta's personal AI agent, launched on September 8, 2026. Instead of chatting, you describe an outcome, like "book dinner for four on Friday" or "find a cheaper car insurance quote", and Muse plans the steps, uses websites and apps, fills in forms and checks back when it needs you. It's a big idea, but it's also brand new and has had a rocky start on security.

What is Muse?

Muse is an AI agent that runs tasks in the background on your behalf: email, travel, forms, bills and purchases (through Stripe Link). It's available in the US on iOS, Android, the web and WhatsApp, and Meta has added a Mac app, video conversations with an avatar, and integrations for small businesses. Meta says Muse can't see your passwords or payment details and asks before sensitive actions like sending email or buying something.

Key features

  • Errands: bookings, forms, bills and online orders
  • Background tasks: works while you do other things and checks in when needed
  • Email and messages: reads and drafts on your behalf (with your permission)
  • Confirmations before sending emails or making purchases
  • Integrations: Shopify, Dropbox, Slack and more for small businesses
  • Available on iOS, Android, web, Mac and WhatsApp (US only)

Who is Muse best for?

  • Early adopters in the US who want to try a personal agent
  • People with low-risk errands to hand off
  • Small businesses already using Meta's apps

Cons

  • US only, and a payment card is required even on Free

How Muse compares

For business work like email and meetings, Lindy is more established. For research and reports, try Manus or Genspark. See all options in our best AI agents guide.

Should you use Muse?

Not for anything sensitive yet. Muse shows what personal AI agents could become, but it's weeks old and has had several early security problems. If you're curious, try it on low-risk tasks, keep confirmations on, and don't connect accounts you can't afford to have exposed. We'll update this rating as its track record develops.
